Религиозная община [commune], основанная группой последователей Дж. Х. Нойеса [Noyes, John Humphrey] в 1848 недалеко от г. Онайда, шт. Нью-Йорк. Члены общины исповедовали примитивные формы христианства, принципы морального совершенствования [Perfectionism] и "библейского коммунизма" [Bible Communism]; считали себя членами "семьи" Бога и по сути проповедовали полигамию, которую называли "комплексным браком" ["complex marriage"], а также выступали за контроль над рождаемостью. Община вела успешную торговлю изделиями из серебра и стали, имела свои поля, консервную и шелковую фабрики, мастерские. В Уоллингфорде, шт. Коннектикут, была основана дочерняя община. Сам Нойес, обвиненный в пропаганде полигамии, в 1879 бежал в Канаду, а члены общины высказались за восстановление моногамии. В 1880 община была реорганизована в акционерное общество, что ознаменовало конец ее социальных экспериментов.
